Mudbelly Teaches at Camden Arts Centre

MUDBELLY TEACHES SCULPTURE WORKSHOP (October 2021)

I joined artist and ceramics friend Phoebe Collings-James to run a Mudbelly Teaches sculpture workshop for Camden Art Centre ‘One in the Other’ programme.

Taking artists who have worked with figuration and embodiment in their practice as our inspiration, participants made their own sculptures after having learnt different making techniques. Senga Nengudi's performances under the highway, Beverly Buchanan's stones, David Hammons' spider explosion, Magdalene Odundo's pots and Ana Mendieta's earth imprints...just some of the works we looked at...

About ‘One in the Other’ — One in the Other is a public (and at times private) ever-evolving space for film, performance, music, poetry, self-defence, singing, resting and pausing. Taking over Camden Art Centre’s Gallery 3 space for the next four months, it takes as its starting point the work of exhibiting artists, Phoebe Collings-James, Adam Farah and Zeinab Saleh, as well as broadening out to introduce new ways of working communally and collaboratively.
